BICKNOLLER
The Parish
Bicknoller is an attractive village nestling at the foot of the Quantock Hills, and the whole parish is within the 30% of the hills designated A.O.N.B.
The village has a very strong community spirit, largely engendered by a community-run shop (one of the first in the country to be organised), with over 50 people actively involved. There is a village hall, which is used for many village activities and also hired out to villagers and others for charity events, meetings and events held by several village organizations, including the Social Club, W.I., youth group and Mothers Union, as well as for private parties. The church enjoys a harmonious relationship within the community and is supported by the Parish Council and on occasion by a few other local organizations, such as Friends of the Quantocks.
There is a playing field with good facilities for ball games and a well-used and equipped ‘Adventure Playground’. Many people wishing to walk in the Quantock Hills use Bicknoller as a base.
