Nettlecombe information

Nettlecombe is the northwestern Parish in the Benefice and lies at the northeast corner of the Exmoor National Park and comprises several hamlets, isolated farms and house, but no village.

The church is built of local Old Red Sandstone and dates from the late 12th Century.

There are many interesting features in the church but the seven sacrament font is unusual for the area.

The 15th century chalice and paten - the oldest known pieces of hall-marked church plate in the UK - are now kept in the Victoria & Albert Museum.
