Thought for the Day
27th March 2020
I went outside on Monday night to look at the night sky. There were no clouds and, reassuringly, everything was there: stars all in their place. It makes one feel very small to gaze up at the magnitude of the heavens. A reminder perhaps that we’re but a tiny part of the whole, and probably think far too highly of ourselves. A little more humility might see us treating the rest of creation much, much better; might even prevent the occurrence of new viruses just because we care properly for everything else that surrounds us.

"For thus says the Lord, 'Surely you know the plans I have for you, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope... If with all your heart you seek me, you will surely find me.'"
